How To Choose Makeup Artist And Hair Stylist For Your Wedding

1. Shop around.
Knowing all available options will give you a peace of mind. Make a list of local providers, browse their websites or Facebook pages. Make notes: "like", "love", "not sure", "don't like". Things to look for are proximity, if posts are current, style of work, reviews, etc.

2. Call first three categories and ask questions.

Write down their answers. Pay attention to their manner of speech. Are they nice? Are they informative? Do they ask you questions?
Questions to ask:
Are you available on a wedding day?
Do you travel?
Do you have a team of helpers?
How long does every service take?
Are you available for a trial?
How much are the services (if not indicated on a website)?
Ask all other questions you may have.

3. Choose 1-3 service providers.

Book trials with all providers you liked. You can cancel the ones you don't need to go to if you found a match.

4. Book a trial.
Regardless of what you see online only trial will show you exactly if you have chosen the right service provider. Remember, if you booked three appointments for trials and you liked the first one you went to, you can cancel the rest.

5. Prepare information

Be ready to provide information about your bridal party before your trial. Amount of people who will need hair and makeup done. Address where you will get ready. Colors of your wedding, wedding theme, wedding dress picture, inspiration pictures for hair and makeup.

6. Show up for a trial.

Be attentive to the way service provider speaks to you, what he/she replies to your comments and concerns. He/she has to be a good listener first and foremost. Does he/she has any suggestions? Does he/she explains why it is better this way and not the other? Does he/she has a knowledge about color theory? (if he/she does warm or cold undertones of skin will be mentioned). Does he/she makes a reference to your dress, wedding theme, wedding colors?

7.Book your wedding day appointment

If you like what you see in a mirroring the end of your trial, book your wedding day services with a provider you liked immediately. Get a confirmation by text or mail from them.Call/email a week before your wedding to confirm.
